pending the release of an announcement by the Company.

Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in
pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on
Friday, 2 May 2003 or when the announcement is released to the market.

USEC Withdraws from Silex Program

Silex was advised yesterday that USEC has decided to withdraw from
the Silex Uranium Enrichment Project in order to focus its resources
on the development and deployment of the 2nd generation American
Centrifuge Uranium Enrichment Technology.

The effect of USEC's decision is that USEC will no longer fund the
development of the Silex process and the rights to the Silex
technology for uranium enrichment revert back to Silex.
